Setting

Living Quarters, Sleeping Area

The bedroom is a light pink with very few furnishings. The lamps and small vase are indigenous styled and there’s a wood plaque on the wall that shows a view of the water and a mountain, reflecting the first shot of the film. This ties into the American History Narrative.

The space for Wendy & Jack’s bedroom doesn’t have a door, just a curtain. (See: Boundaries)

The pattern on the curtain is a neutral version of the pattern on Room 237’s carpet. This ties in with the Domestic Abuse Narrative and The Maze Narrative Device.

The bathroom is a sparse white with a black band in tile. Having Jack call it “homey” is foreshadowing to him attempting to kill Wendy and Danny in this same space, a clear tie in with Domestic Abuse Narrative.
